Water/Landscapes on linen 2007-2008

A series of exploration. The flattest country in the world does indeed pose a challenge whilst painting landscapes. Finding my own voice and being able to break through my perception of a certain annoying neatness in landscape paintings, whilst the opposite is experienced when standing in the landscape itself. Sometimes it's interesting to imagine looking through the eyes of seagull. It's an exciting journey. Besides all that there is a growing interest in ponds and landscapes with water. It’s a matter of zooming out.
